High Flying Has Never Looked This Easy
If you haven't been watching the NBA for whatever reason that may be, you may be missing out on one of the best seasons the league has had in quite a long time. The resurgence of those god-forsaken New York Knicks, the brand new Miami Thrice, and those poor, poor Cleveland Cavaliers combined with the usual Lakers, Spurs, and Celtics to make a great soap opera-esque NBA season. With all that is great going on in the league there is one player who has us giddy like the first time we ever saw a young (and black) Michael Jackson, this players name is Blake Griffin.
Blake Griffin, the high flying forward from Oklahoma is David Stern's bundle of joy, that is if David Stern had a baby with Batman, Superman, a pogo stick, and carrot top. Blake has yet to disappoint this season putting highlight reel dunks and placing an otherwise worthless Clippers team on the national map. He was the first pick of the 2009 NBA draft but suffered a season ending knee injury coming down after a dunk in the last preseason game. After skipping the 2009-2010 season rehabbing his bummed knee he headed into the 2010-2011 campaign with high hopes and hopefully a second chance to show Clippers fans, and Donald Sterling he is not an injury prone tin can (Paging Greg Oden!).
To say that Blake Griffin is having a great rookie season would be an understatement. The man is putting up unreal numbers on an other wise ineffective Clippers team (20-33 this season). Averaging a mere 22.8 points per contest and raking in a small 12.6 rebounds per game, it is safe to say that this man is no ordinary human. Blake has made his mark on the NBA and barring any nagging injuries during his years in the league (easier said than done, as TMac and Vince Carter) he will find himself giving an acceptance speech in Springfield, probably being enshrined as being one of the most dominant players to ever play the game. Yeah, he's that good if you don't believe me turn your TV onto ESPN, chances are that he will be on it showing another NBA veteran what his balls taste like. With these high flying dunks, and crazy stat lines he has me thinking that we could see what would of happened to Shawn Kemp had he used all of his potential on Basketball, and not baby making.
Blake Griffin is an athlete like we haven't seen in the NBA. He's gonna revolutionize the league and you'd be nuts to miss this years dunk contest. Keep the keg talk coming and follow me at:
